Challenge

Our client are in the gas exploration market. When drilling for new wells, they have to set up temporary processing equipment for well testing. This takes place for at least 6 – 9 months, where they take well fluids and separate them, such as gas, oil, water – the oil gets stored on site and is classed as HSNO 3.1A.

Our client came to Fuelchief to discuss plans to build a SuperVault, as the only other alternative for storing a flammable liquid involved a concrete bund as a permanent structure. They also required some additional features, such as brackets for a custom walkway and pipework.

Solution

The SuperVault was the obvious choice for the flammability of the product, meaning the customer could relocate the tank once testing was finished. It saves them investing in concrete bunds and a permanent installation that would have a limited life span for the client.

Outcome

The outcome was rather different to what most of our tanks look like! The client mounted the SuperVault on a purpose-built skid frame with load-out pump system. This solved the flammability compliance issue and allowed the client to purchase an asset that they can use time and time again, on different sites as they develop.
